So I’m gonna have to do somethin myself. I’ve had two cool ideas. One is that I’m gonna make a list of all the things that I spend my money on each week and see if there’s anything I can cut out. Prob is, I don’t think there is anything. I’m fessin that I totally lurve choccie, I just can’t live without it and I like to share it with Bimini when we walk home from school. I try very hard not to just spend money on me, coz it’s sooooooooo important to share with my bezzies too.
I can’t really live without my hair accessories and jewellery coz I just soooo have to look right. Then I’m fessin that I’ve got this wierd thing for buying notebooks and pens! OK so I’m kooky, but I totally love them. So I can’t cut back there either!
My second idea is maybe better. Maybe if I talk to Mum I could do some jobs and things for her and Dad and they could give me xtra pocket money in return.
My rents are always goin’ on about how they need more help and I think they would be cool with the idea of me earning extra money for doin useful things. I’ll talk to Mum bout what she’d like me to do. Just hope it’s not anything too yucky! Wish me luck!
ok I am even growing these strawberries which are ubercool.
I know you all think I’m kooky, but I’m soooooooooo excited about my gardening. Dad has given me a big pot on the terrace and I’ve planted strawberries coz they’re one of my fave things to eat. They are growing really quickly and you can see where the fruit is coming. At the mo they are just whitey things, but soon they will be fat, red, juicey strawbs!
Just one prob though and it’s a pretty big one. It’s birds! They seem to like strawberries as much as I do and they are starting to eat the fruit. I totally love birds, but I’m fessin’ that I don’t like them pinching my strawbs, so I have a plan.
I’m gonna scare them away! First I thought I could dress up like a scarecrow and do it that way, then I thought that they would probably miss me at school and Mrs Bowen would get a bit splodie. Anyway, I h8 the fashion road-kill stuff that scarecrows wear, I could never wear that clobber.
So, I’m gonna make a bird-scarer and it’s soooooooooooo simple!
All you need are 3 garden canes, (Dad will have some) and some old CD’s that you don’t want to listen to anymore. Push 2 of the canes into the soil and then tie the third one across the top and it makes a kind a frame over the plants. Then all you have to do is tie the CD’s to the top cane with string or strips of plastic bag. Then the CD’s twirl about in the wind and the sun flashes light off them and this scares the birds away without hurting them at all.
I just think the whole thing is totally cool and it makes a funky mobile in the garden and leaves loads of yummie strawbs for me!
